Mandalay Paradise Apartment - Unit 141

Nice room but hard to find Positive: The room was clean, and had good access to the pool. The location was very convenient if you have a car or you know how public transport works because there was a bus stop right out the front. Negative: Google maps directed us to a back driveway, not the front office. There was no signage to say what the place was called. It was very hard to find the room because everything was set up for the wrong direction. Sending a map through would have helped so we knew where we were going. We also chose this location for parking, because we are on a road trip. We had to lug a car fridge and bikes and all our luggage up the hill. The neighbours were nice, but smoked a lot and there was a lot of cigarette smoke. I wouldn't care except I'm 7 months pregnant and didn't want to have to talk to them when it's their home. The single bed was on wheels which meant it kept moving. The restaurant was closed, there was really no gym but the pool, tennis courts etc were nice. The door to the bathroom was sticking when you tried to close it.

Very clean and comfortable. Nice pool, garden area Negative: Need name of apartments and street number on front wall. Very hard to find our unit, as it was for other guests when we arrived. No reception, because of this you need a large map in reception area so we can see where our room is. Your e mail told us room 41 when it was 141

Disappointing to see venue not up to memories of previous visit. Place needs an urgent spruce up. Positive: No meals available on site, Swim pool area good, nice gardens. Negative: Car park well away from unit making it difficult to move luggage. Luggage trollies damages and difficult to manourver. Neighbours smoked on their verandah resulting in smoke spreading to our verandah ( understood no smoking within 5 m. of buildings). No venue staff around to answer questions etc. Single blanket on main bed - too small to be of any value.
